The project is conducted by the department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pécs. Experiments are carried out by a consortium of two Universities (University of Pecs and University of Kaposvar); most animal work is done at the University of Kaposvar, the tissue culturing is executed by the cooperation of the department of Immunology and Biotechnology and the department of Orthopedic Surgery.
As to the conductor the Department of Orthopedic Surgery was founded in 1966, and functions as a teaching Institute operating on 45 beds with 14 doctors. We perform approximately 2000 surgeries covering all aspects of orthopedics. Our major profiles are spine, pediatric, adult reconstruction and sports surgery.
